LINCOLN PARK COAST CULTURAL DISTRICT PARTNERS WITH PORTGUAL DAY ON EAST MEETS CENTRAL BIKE RIDE

We Walk for Autism Awareness

According to the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) Autism and Development Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network, "About 1 in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)". We also know that, according to the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, "African-American children and other children of color are among the worst-affected" often due to delayed diagnosis and/or misdiagnosis.

As you know, the role and contribution of sustainable and health & wellness is key in community building. This holistic approach includes not only physical wellness, but environmental, emotional and mental wellness also. Further, we understand the importance of health and wellness in communities of color, especially when we talk about Autism.
