LINCOLN PARK CULTURAL COAST DISTRICT WRAPS UP ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL LINCOLN PARK MUSIC FESTIVAL!


The 11th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival wrapped up its spectacular annual celebration of spirit, music and dance. Hosted by Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District (LPCCD), the highly anticipated festival included a series of concerts, performances and special events throughout the city of Newark. This year's festival season featured Dr. Cissy Houston, Zuri Marley, Ann Nesby, Savion Glover, Tom Browne, DJ Marley Marl, DMC World Championship DJs, RES and more. The festival weekend was ohosted by Alex Hill (WBGO), Liz Black (WLIB), Bugsy (WBLS), Miss Theresa and Eddie Nicholas, Miss Nana, Drew Ski (Hot 97) and DoItAll of Lords of the Underground. 



The 11th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival month opened July 6th, with the return of its groundbreaking Jazzy Soul Series, at Hotel Indigo's SKYLAB. Jazzy Soul Series is a cabaret-style show of live musical performances featuring up-and-coming underground artists. The three artists featured last month were critically acclaimed neo-soul artist RES, jazz/soul singer Hendii and Honeycomb Records artist Lamone.



The celebration continued on Saturday, July 23rd with a special lighting ceremony of the landmark Lincoln Park Church Facade, also known as the old South Park Presbyterian Church. The lighting of the Facade was made possible with the support of the City of Newark, PSE&G, Turner Construction, Big Color Printing, RAB Lighting, The American Society of Interior Designers New Jersey Chapter (ASIDNJ), the leading organization for interior design professionals; D.C. Electrical Contractors and United Airlines.



The ceremony, which was held in honor of the City of Newark's 350th Anniversary, was followed by the opening night of the pop up exhibit "Lincoln Park Music Festival: Decade One" at City Without Walls Gallery featuring the first-time ever performance of Zuri Marley of the legendary Marley family.
